Mechanical Harvesting Equipment Operator

The Mechanical Harvesting Equipment Operator course examines the health and safety aspects of operating a variety of mechanical harvesting equipment in the forestry sector.

The specific pieces of mechanical harvesting equipment include:

• grapple skidder
• feller buncher
• cut-to-length processor
• forwarder/transporter
• delimber
• slasher
• chipper
• log loader
• grinder

This course is for potential operators of the above pieces of equipment as the first part of a mandatory certification program that also includes machine-specific pre-work orientation and a competency demonstration in actual work conditions.  The course is also a requirement for supervisors prior to supervising workers who operate the specified equipment.

As with all other services offered, Intola Safety includes an explanation of the laws and regulations currently in place to protect workers.
